Hey all,

I just moved here from the states and looking to meet some other expats or find some people to hang out with here in Santo Domingo. I'm getting ready to be a teacher here and since it's summer I haven't met any of my colleagues yet and so I thought I'd post a message on here and see if anyone could offer me some insight or just wants to grab some delicious Dominican coffee. Finding expats through your professional contacts could be a less risky way to meet suitable friends. Pay much closer attention to who you meet at the coffee shops or the local expat hangout. Outside of recommendations for a nice restaurant or water fall, be very suspicious of all good luck or hard luck stories.
