Where can you get a vehicle tag in Santiago?

Hola everyone !
I was doing some work in Haiti and now I got transferred to Santiago. I bought a car while I was in Haiti. Where can I go here in Santiago to change the Haiti Tag to DR Tag and how much it will cost. I've been stop by police twice...

I feel sorry for you since you will have to pay taxes on your car. You have "imported" a vehicle, so it is not as simple as "buying a tag."
You have will most likely have to jump through some hoops: Aduanas--at the airport? and then follow the paper trail. I do hope you are patient.

However, if you have Haitian tags, I think you can drive around here for a while. What kind of vehicle is it? I saw and SUV with diplomatic plates from Haiti yesterday....
