Yearly Expenses for Cat Ownership?
we have two pulgosos:
water - tap, free
food - purina dry, about 900 pesos a month
treats - whiskas, brought from europe by guests, free
treats - tuna or sardinas in a can, ocasionally they get one or two spoons each, say 100 pesos a month
poo - no cat litter needed, they do their business outside; before we used fresh steps, bought in pricesmart in santiago, about 450 pesos peg bag/box, lasted 2-3 months (it clumps nicely)
balls - one off operation
i think it was 3k pesos for each of the buggers (boys, girls cost more)
deparasitant - 450 pesos per syringe, they get 1cc each every now and then
vacunas - frankly i cannot remember
so there, for two of them minimum 1000 pesos per month.
btw, this is a cost for gringos, dominicans spend nothing on their cats. no litter (cats go outside), tap water and leftover of their own food. plus whatever cats manage to steal or hunt. i know few cats living in colmados (means of pest control), they eat whatever clients throw them, bones, bits of meat etc. plus rats and cucarachas.
