I have noticed that many “moderators” post their own views whilst showing the “Moderator Badge” under their name. It would be useful if moderators differentiated ( big word I know) between their own views and those views that they as Moderators represent for DR1 and take actions against those that transgress DR1 policies. (Which I might add are not published!!!)

I feel that many of us would want moderators to express their views under their own name and only use the “Moderator” name tag when dealing with something that need moderation!!

I agree, and separate your "moderator" position from your personal feelings. There are quite a few that play favorites. I know of one off the top that needs an inservice. How can one person say "You're an idiot!" to someone 4 or 5 times but the minute someone they don't like says "you're an idiot!" They get dinged.
There is a pattern and a method to who they let do what and that's a shame.

I have probable had more posts deleted and or modified that anybody in this thread as of yet combined and I'd say the moderators overall do a good job given the circumstances. Certainly the moderator's own opinion will cause them to make hasty decisions at times - I know I've sent more than a few pm's with regard to that - but generally they get the job done. Factor in the fact that they get zero compensation and typically have lives outside DR1 and I think the service they give is acceptable.

I recommend to the Op to just do what I do and plead your case as politely as possible to the moderator first and then if no results to the big guy if you feel necessary. cheerio.
