Hey, is the only way into Las Terrenas from El Catey Aiport a $50 taxi ride? No public or private bus companies operating this route? If so, does anyone know departure and arrival times, duration, cost, etc? Are these express services without stopping or is this a mil run? Thanks for the help and info!

No bus that I know of from the airport itself, Taxi union too strong.
Your best bet would be getting to the main road and catching a guagua or publico or taking a Taxi to Sanchez and then the bus.

Hi:
You could try Transporte Las Terrenas. They run a number of buses from LT to Santo Domingo and back. Call them and find out at about what time they pass El Catey. You probably need to be waiting out on the highway but they will stop if you make arrangements in advance. They are very inexpensive. Telephone Las Terrenas 809-240-5302 or Santo Domingo 809-687-1470.

You can wait in the shade at the new toll booth,,, just a few yards west of the airport entrance.

I went through there on Saturday..... it's near completion... glass going in, etc.

Does anyone know what the toll will be yet?

Hi:

There is a bus company called Transporte Las Terrenas. They run bussed 3 or 4 times a day between Las Terrenas and Santo Domingo. If you called them in advance and made arrangements they would probably pick you up on the highway outside of the airport. Phone numbers are, in Santo Domingo 809-687-1470, Las Terrenas 809-240-5302. This bus in very inexpensive and will drop you in the tourist sector of Las Terrenas.
