Dominican Today writes :

The power plant San Felipe, located in Puerto Plata, and the main electricity supplier of Dominican Republic?s northern grid Edenorte, will be off line for three weeks starting today Thursday.

The outage will last until September 7, to subject it to major maintenance, scheduled within its programming every year.

In addition, the AES plant power will be out of service from 12 midnight on Saturday the 20th and until Sunday the 21st, for corrective repairs and to adjust the water injection system and the combustion of the gas turbine.

As is known, the outage of these power stations from the electrical system spurs voltage regulatory problems in National Interconnected System (SENI) and supply shortages from the lack of generation. This leads to an increase in critical circuit rotations as well, and the vicissitudes that entail for the circuits with commitments, such as 24 hour circuits and exclusive ones which normally present voltage losses in situations like this.

Dominican Edenorte asks its customers to take the pertinent measures to lessen the possible affects in their productivity or use of the service we offer.

The electrical company apologizes to its customers for the inconveniences that these actions could cause them, over which it doesn?t have any control.

Call me an idiot but what exactly does that mean, how and where exactly will be affected, towns, time down etc.
