Nice common sense standard...
Here's my runabout in the UK. 2005 Kawasaki ER500. Nothing fancy, but does the job.

NICE classic Yamahammer. Wow! I had a YDS3 of around the same vintage,my first real street bike. I had a 60's Cushman Eagle before, but that was different...<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/52718479@N05/6115062426/" title="My 41 yr. old Yamaha DT-1 by appleman bob, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6061/6115062426_579b4f48b5.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="My 41 yr. old Yamaha DT-1"></a>
This is my original dual purpose 1970 Yamaha that I still have. Lots of fun to ride back in the 70's. I just keep it around for old times sake but it makes me feel right at home in the DR.
I was Brit bike nut for many, many years (no mas.) had gaggles of Trumpets, BSAs, Nortons and Royal Enfields. Never had a Vincent, but loved Hunter S. Thompson compositions about them (Best ever motorcycle review: Song of the Sausage Creature.)Yep, I had a 1970 as well.. What a great little bike that was. Would I love to find another one in good shape. That and a Triumph 650 Bonneville...
Beautifull. Haven't seen a Bonneville in .... years. Do you let special guests sit on it for dinner?I was Brit bike nut for many, many years (no mas.) had gaggles of Trumpets, BSAs, Nortons and Royal Enfields. Never had a Vincent, but loved Hunter S. Thompson compositions about them (Best ever motorcycle review: Song of the Sausage Creature.)
My most rare find, a '70 Bonneville, acquired sight (and mileage) unseen in 1994...with 36 original miles. Heck, it still had the original mineral oil in the crankcase and transparent stickers on the gauges. Now sits in the Suzuki museum in Tokyo...:
(Yes, it's in the dining room. Too nice and rare for the garage...
You'll covet my old daily rider, a '70 BSA Lightning in near-flawless condition (I changed the ignition/charging system from the Lucas):*Sigh*
I had three of these, along with a Trident. Man, how I loved the sound of those bikes.
The other one that drove me nuts was the Vincent a buddy of mine had, back when I was a kid. I bet he wishes he still had that baby too.
Did you read that HS Thompson review of a Ducati I posted earlier in this thread? You really need to. It's Gonzo journalism at it's best...and yet another *sigh* ( you know how that feels)
