Marina Info need for North Side D.R.

Could someone help me with some Marina Facilities for refueling my boat on the North Side of Dominican Republic. Will be traveling from the Truks on the way to St. Thomas for fishing. First trip and would like to make it a good one.

Depending on your fuel range, you may be able to make it to Samana on the east end of the island. Otherwise, you'll have to run south from Turks to Luperon or Puerto Plata and then east along the north coast and around Cape Samana and up into Samana Bay. The direct course to Samana is best and fastest although it is dead into the prevailing trade wind (and chop).

South to Luperon or POP. Leave very, very early to avoid on shore breezes. Overnight in Samana, (Or Andy's place), leave early to Puerto Rico....

Luperon is the best anchorage around, see you at the bar, in the Puerto Blanco marina...
