Hey all,
I live in Bavaro, have a good job, need a car-pronto, and don't know if I will be able to get financing on a work visa and not residency...anyways, to get some extra cash to get my car faster than saving up, I am thinking of selling a diamond ring that I brought with me from the US. Anyone know where I can sell it and get it's real value or more? Thanks.

You are kidding, aren't you????? Even if you were in NYC, the best you could expect is a percentage of wholesale value of stone and metal weight.

You might buy a dinky toy..

ballpark figures: 35$/gram 18k
diamonds: 150$/carat for small stones

You'll be happy if you get 2500$ for a 1 carat diamond

Barnab?

I can recommend Julio Brador in Santo Domingo. He is the only jeweler I know and trust over the past 43 years.

No, I wasn't kidding...I guess just not thinking straight. lol. I know that the value of gold has skyrocketed, and things in this country always seem to cost more than they do in the states, I guess I just thought the same might apply for jewelry. @ HB Thanks for the advice.

If you really want to sell it... ship it back to the US for selling.
Return it to where you bought it,,,, etc
