We are looking at booking a vacation at Ocean Blue this winter. We have an 8 year old with a peanut allergy. On the off chance that she ingests peanuts, where would the closest emergency medical centre be? Is there an emergency number that can be called for an ambulance or would we better off taking a taxi? Would we be that much closer if we booked something in the area of the Palladium resorts? Thank you for your input.

Hospiten Bavaro-Punta Cana
Strategically located in Playa Bavaro, Hospiten Bavaro was the first hospital of the Hospiten Network to be built outside of Spain. Opened in 2000, this centre has the very latest medical and surgical technology. It has 70 in-patient beds, four operating theatres, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), bio-pathology and micro-biology laboratory, remote controlled and conventional X-Ray unit, mobile C Arch, Scanner and mobile X-Ray equipment.

Taxi is the best way to get there

There is a medical centre in Ocean Blue. The doctor is there every day and lives above the clinic. There is an ambulance that can take you straight to the hospital just near plaza estrella...about 3 minutes away from the hotel. They will contact your insurance for you or you can pay direct. So no worries.

Check with your Insurance Company

You may also want to check with your insurance company to see where, if at all, you might have coverage. It gives you a little piece of mind, and you can also adjust your plans to closer to where they are.

Thank you for the information. I have lost the battle though and we are going to Disney instead. Maybe PC next year.

~Where ever you go make sure you travel with an Epi-pen from doctor in US, at least this way you have a quick injections in the event it takes a longer time to get to the emergency services~
