My wife and I need to have our signatures notarized on a document. It needs to be recognized in Canada as legal. Can any lawyer in Las Terrenas do this? Thanks.

No, it won't be legal in Canada. You need to go to the embassy to get it notarized using the legal system of that country.

I don't have the phone number but you can get it from the embassy and contact Tim Hall who is the Canadian Consulate for the north coast and has an office in Puerto Plata. They can do it there. How ever I am not sure that is any closer then Santo Domingo with the new highway in.
