Entry visa

Hi

I have been offered a full time job in Santo Domingo. What I am wondering is will I be able to enter the DR with a one way flight ticket or will I need a return ticket to get through customs etc.

Thanks in advance
Stewart

Re: proof of Round-Trip not verifyable

Immigration does not check for a round-trip ticket, although technically, on a tourist card, you are required to have purchased one. They used to verify this in immigration a couple years ago but with the advent of E-tickets, all somebody has to do is say they are traveling on an electronic ticket (no paper ticket is issued, you just show id at check-in).

That is very handy to know.

Re: proof of Round-Trip not verifyable

Well, the problem may is when you leave - I as a Dominican resident always have been asked at the check in on my status in the DR!

You may get arround that like this:

You apply for a residence entry visa at the nearest consulate!
(legal procedure)

You claim a boat is waiting for you to a caribbean cruise! (small boat of course, otherwise you would need a confirmation!)

Take care
