My Circus has been invited to do a 5 day event in Guyana, to get there we need to travel through Antigua and Barbados.

I have spoken to both Consulates here in the DR, Apparently my dominican employees do not need visas to be in transit, the return journey includes an overnight stay of which they say passports will be held and a waiver given at the airport... A little suspicious of this but thats what the general consul says.

Barbados however says we need a full visa and we do not even pass immigration, we will be there for an hour and i am unsure if we even dismount the aeroplane.

I am searching on google and so on, but i just wondered if anyone with more experience can guide me on this one because i am getting a headache ha ha.

Thanks

It looks like you dont need a visa if you are on a cruise but it is different to being in transit I think as the cruise ship probably keeps the passport. I think from what I have read LJ you may have been given the right info but worth checking out with the Barbados authorities.

Dominican citizens can stay up to 24 hours in the country for transit purposes and will be processed by immigration authorities. Immigration reserves the right to "accompany" the travelers to the plane.

Thanks everyone, I did make a few more calls and yes it looks as if we can prove onward transit less than 24 hours from arrival time.

Its a great oppurtunity for us, but boy is it gonna be an experience ha ha.

Thanks again
