I am a Brit separated from my British wife who returned to the UK when we realised that life in the DR wasn't for her. We married in Barbados.
We have been separated for nearly five years. We have an amicable relationship and we have also dealt with our finances to a satisfactory conclusion. I am also continuing to pay maintenance for my son who lives with her in the UK.
She is divorcing me through the UK courts, but it's taking forever. We are going back and forth and the lawyers just seem to procrastinate to make more money out of us.
My questions are: Can I divorce my wife through the Dominican system? If so, is it universally accepted? How long does it take?
Thanks
