I am bringing a few donated cell phones for a library I like to support. However, they are Verizon phones and do not take a SIM card. Is it possible to activate and use these phones in DR?

Last year I tried to activate a CDMA phone with Claro, and was told they only activate GSM phones. VIVA may or may not activate CDMA phones, if they are still in business under that name? Good Luck!

Verizon activated a CDMA phone for me in March of this year. They will do it only for someone who has a c?dula, however. If you are planning for Dominicans or legal residents to use them, it should be fine.
