RD Embassy in Haiti waiting for justice for the murder of Gloria Perez
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic on Monday welcomed the expressions of sympathy on the part of Dominican and Haitian families for the crime of the Dominican Gloria Guzm?n P?rez (Josefina) secretary general of Dominicans living in Haiti Association, which occurred last Friday in the neighboring country.
The diplomatic body also directed his gratitude to President Michel Martelly and members of his government, as well as the Haitian National Police and National Security officials who have expressed their solidarity and also worked in favor of avoiding the unfortunate loss.
Said they has absolute faith that the relevant Haitian authorities will spare no efforts to pursue the perpetrators to justice.
The Dominican Embassy in Haiti said in a statement "This horrible incident we understand it as an ominous result of those determined to overshadow the good of the Haitian people, who despite extensive testing which has been subject, in the last two years has shown a culture respectful of social peace. "
He also called on the community of Dominicans living in Haiti to remain on alert to anti social crime insist on making a profession, but who know very clearly that under no circumstances this should be seen as an action in against the Dominicans in Haiti.
It is recalled that the secretary general of the Dominicans Asociaciaci?n of living in Haiti was killed 9 days after being kidnapped as they achieved, before killing her, a ransom of $ 20,000 for a total of 150 000 that was required from the family of the victim.
Gloria Guzm?n P?rez (Josefina), 50 years old was living in Haiti for 24 years and owned a beauty salon, a photo center, a floristshop and a small restaurant located on the Rue du Canape Vert, which is close to P?tionville in Port au Prince.
The body of the Dominican was found at 11:00 am on Friday at Moquette Bois, a sector on the outskirts of Port au Prince. She had two daughters who were born in Haiti and are iving in Germany.

She wasn't a Dominican diplomat in reality, she worked with close ties with the embassy of ours there as representative of the Dominican expat community in Haiti. She was the victim of the same crime that's also targeting all other biz people in Haiti, which includes foreigners that mix with the locals.
In her particular case it's believe that the kidnappers were chance criminals that took the opportunity to grab her and demand a ransom, without ever having the intention to release her alive in the first place. She was raped for however long she was alive (believe to be about three days) and then shot execution style with a gunshot to the head by her captors once the first ransom was paid in good faith of USD$20,000, out of the total requested by them.
In Haiti, a group of criminals with newfound fortune is the best lead Police have and already they're aware of who was involved in the crime by some tips. The problem is not knowing who did it, but capturing the criminals with a tiny Police force that can't really extend much other than in the capital and three major cities.
It will take sometime to apprehend the men behind the crime, but we must admit it could as well mean they never get arrested as well. Bribes go a long ways in Haiti, where Policemen make way less than a Dominican cop brings in, never mind the higher authorities in the said department.
The major difference is how Dominicans don't rush to make it a case of a hate crime by them to our citizens as they claim on an almost cyclical basis when the same happens to Haitian here in the DR. Maybe we should start doing so?
This reminds me of a similar case (no kidnapping) where a Dominican biz women was shot execution style by the robbers after hesitated a bit frozen from the scare for all they asked for in her small shop in Haiti.::::

Her killers are still on the streets and you don't hear any Dominicans creating much ado in the international news about it as Haitians seem to do everytime one of theirs is done for by common crime in the DR...
The cases pile atop each other of Dominicans attacked in Haiti and nothing comes about in the news from protests Dominicans know is crime based on pure common criminals going about their biz, unlike our next door neighbors...
