I always seem to forget the station I always go to, but the cost is usually 900-1000 pesos. The station in Santiago is near a burger king, I believe.

Which are the two bus stations with buses to Santiago?

Thanks.

I use Metro frequently, it leaves from behind the Scotiabank Av. 27 de febrero branch and Plaza Central from Santo Domingo. I?m not sure where Caribe Tours leaves. The stop in in Santiago is also close to av. 27 de febrero, close to McDonalds.

Where do you pay 900-1000 pesos?? The one way cost should be about 190 pesos, (I always buy SDQ-POP which is 340 DOP, and POP-STI is 150 DOP).

Caribe Tours depot is 27 de Feb, but that is a big very obvious depot and anyone with eyesight would remember where it was and who runs from there as the buses are very obviously Caribe tours, so I don't think the OP means this. I have never heard of any bus ticket costing 900-1000 pesos anywhere so that is confusing

Thanks for the post. Yep, Metro's the one.

I forgot to clarify: I pay 900-1000 pesos for the taxi trip from the airport to the Metro station. I just thought that would help.

I've always used Metro, and they'we always had good service.

Out of curiosity, who would you recommend, Metro or Caribbe Tours?

Metro is better. They do not stop in La Vega, which adds about 30 minutes to the trip. Also better equipment. I think they may charge a few pesos more.

Both stop on the same block in Santiago. But CT has a second stop also in Santiago.

From the North Coast, I have never taken Metro because their timing has never been good for when I needed to go to Santo Domingo. I have always taken Caribe Tours for that reason since Caribe Tours runs every hour and Metro has a much more limited schedule.
