McDonalds has a huge hit with the McRib sandwich wich is a boneless patty with bbq sauce and pickles.

If a famous Rib Joint were to serve up something similar who knows what profits could be achieved.

These elusive tasty treats are available and that's why they have a tracking website to find them.

We are not on the map in the DR so ask for them.

if you've never tasted a McRib (like a lot of folks in the DR) how could an off brand rib sandwich be a hit ? just asking a question.

I absolutely love the McRib I have it with bacon and cheese. but nothing beats the Macdonalds Angus chipotle with bacon and cheese. Now I am sure that would be a real hit in the dominican republic as well.

You can only eat so many McRibs. That is why it is a specialty item at McD's and only offered a few weeks every year, like the green milkshakes. Years ago they tried it as a regular item and interest in it waned.

It believe it was introduced in 1982 when I started working at McD's. They bring it back intermittently because after a while people get tired of them. They are good though especially with extra pickles and onions.

I doubt that anyone will copy the idea, but I am sure of one thing. If someone does start to make it and it is successful, then someone will open a copycat business practically next door and they will both suffer. As an example: Cobraboy, how many rib joints are there now on the road from La Vega up to Jarabacoa?

Actually the McRib tastes alot like the pork sandwich the pushcart at the corner of Pedro Clisante and Dr. Rosen in Sosua sells.

The McRib is the most disgusting fake meat I've ever eaten. Why would you want anybody to make that here????

Anybody that thinks McDonald's food is somehow tasty or great, needs to start patronizing their local eateries more often if at least once...

I was surprise that they now advertise their "new and improved" premium chicken patties! I mean... So before it was what in relation to the new adoption? Cardboard? Trimmings?

With the availability of cheap tasty burgers, fresh chicken and pork at so many places in DR, I never saw the attraction of McDs or Burger King to the population there.

It's not bad but get's old for a while, especially if you eat one everyday for a week or so when it came out like I did.

Speaking of that, after trying to find work in college I decided to work at Pizza Hut as working at McDonanlds had all but cured me of liking hamburgers but after three weeks I was tired of pizza already.

Funny is how I haven't as of yet got tired of rice and beans though. :)

Probably because someone make it for you while you are on DR1, a little different than flipping greasy burgers :)
