I couldn't agree more about Santo Domingo. The little time I spent there, I felt like I was in a really big ghetto. I felt too unsafe to really explore the city.
But I'll take Las Galleras, Las Terrenas, El Limon, Cabarete, Sosua, Costambar, Cofresi, Santiago, Montecristi, Luperon, Playa Grande, and Barahona.
The cold weather is trying in the winter, but there is a reason that we (Canada) have been voted the #1 nation to live by the United Nations for 7 years in a row.
