Higuey, 8.00 AM. Everything seems to be normal. A slightly less transit, but otherwise everything seems normal. Schools open for classes. Practically all stores are open (those that tend to open at 8 am). Higuey - SD transport (APTRA) seems to be operating normally. Buses leaving on schedule and several are lined up to take their turns in early morning rush hour towards Santo Domingo. Several armed police (with shotguns) in strategic spots. Otherwise, everything and everyone seems to go about its/his daily life as normal. Will post update about 12 noon situation.

Please post your local update.

** I think this huelga will be again one of those where Dom Ladin (Hubieres) will be the only participant. **

Sosua is business as usual, motos on every corner. And I did see a big truck full of army guys, all armed, near the Metro station.

No... I got mine in Sosua. Just had to pay the fine of 600 pesos. No signs of a violent strike. Like somebody said actually nicer. Quiet...
