I'm off to Africa at the end of the week and I will be spending some time in Angola.
One of the requirements is having the Yellow Fever vacine, along with the necessary certificate etc.

I phoned up my good friend, Dr. J Assyd who's the #1 kidney guy in the DR and also owns a walk in clinic and lab in Plaza Central, Santo Domingo. I asked him who offered the Yellow Fever shot in Santo Domingo as I assumed it wasn't very popular. He told me it wasn't a problem and that his clinic would order in the shot and to come by the following day.

Next day I turned up, they took some details, gave me the shot, filled out the necessary medical certificate for my passport and I was on my way. Very easy and very convenient.

If you need a very moderen walkin clinic with English speaking staff, this is the place. It's conveniently located on the same floor as the food court in Plaza Central. As well as the usual walkin cases, pre-employment checks etc, they also have various specialists that visit the clinic 1 day per week.

Few photos I took at the clinic :)

Hey, this is awesome! It turns out, I am heading to Africa with my little one shortly (Togo) and I am so happy to see this post. On DR1, of all places! :)

Excellent!

I only recommend places that I have personally used and received excellent service, so glad they are looking after you.

Please post your experience in a new thread!

We were happy to see this thread since my husband really needed to get yellow fever shot for his visit to Africa. I called them, and they told us what needed to be prepared and brought to the clinic to get the shot. Since the front desk lady did not speak too much English, she told me that the doctor would call me within 5 minutes in which he did. The price is also very reasonable. Service was excellent. My husband took home bunch of its business card so he can recommend the clinic to his coworkers at work, especially for the ones who have limited Spanish like us. Highly recommended.

Glad you had a great experience. The clinic is one of those diamonds in the rough in Santo Domingo.

No gloves??? If anyone else goes to this clinic ask them to wear gloves. Some clinics re-use the old gloves by rinsing them off and hanging up to dry. Make sure to see them open a new package. Same thing with syringes and needles. They can save a buck by using the old needles and syringes. I always ask to see them open the package and draw the medicine in front of me using brand new needles and syringes.
From my experience no gloves is the norm in the DR.
