ASKING ABOUT A CERTAIN HOTEL

Buenos Noches, Amigos!! I know that that means "goodnight" - as in "I'm going to bed." But I want to know how to say the greeting "good evening" as we might say "good morning." Who's got that for me?
FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN NICE ENOUGH TO BE ASKING US THESE PAST FEW DAYS:
Looks like we're flying into Santo Domingo (not Purto Plata as orginally planned). We got a "bargain" (we think) which includes HOTEL HISPANEOLA (es barato!) on Avenida Independencia.
We have read about it on the web but would still like to ask about it here. I understand it's in "downtown" SD is that a decent neighborhood? Our reasoning for SD rather than POP :
it's the capital, and we'll need to do some governmental agency researching - without traveling a long distance (as opposed to flying into to Puerto Plato.
We'd like to ask several questions tonight, but want to put each question into separate messages just seems easier for us when searching for responses. Gracias, Amigos!!! -Ed and Mame-

Many questions, many answers

Good night is the equivalent of good evening. It is not meant to be said as "I am going to bed" necessarily. You can use it at arriving or leaving, regardless. Good morning is "Buenos dias".

I don't think the concept of downtown applies in Santo Domingo. Although we have largely commercial areas they all started as residencial areas and ended up being a mix.

The Hispaniola is a decent, though not luxurious, hotel near the Malecon (seaside). There's a casino if you like gambling. It is a very safe area, same neighborhood as the President Mejia's family home and right in front of a police (or is it army) station. The Hispaniola is a good choice for you if you have many "governmental agency researching" because many government offices are in the neighborhood, but you might still have to take a taxi.

Thank you for that!! It really narrows down, precisely, what I wanted to know. Have you seen Debbie's DR website:

"Spanish Words and Prases and How to Say them"
Very nice for a beginner! I printed it out and practice every day!! Thanks again, Lyse. -Ed and Mame-
