    Question Quick Culture Lesson?

Great forum! Some friends and I, married couples, are visiting for a few days this month. Staying at an AI in PC. What local food or activity would you recommend? I love to see unique things like weekend produce markets, live music, local festivals, etc and I love to try new foods.

Also, one friend would really like to see Santo Domingo for part of a day, but our timeis short....is this do-able or too hard to squeeze into a four day trip? How would you go about it if younwere to go? Rent a car? Formal tour?

Your time is too short for a trip to SD,in my opinion.
The "AIs" make it difficult for you make "un-escorted" trips outside their property, but you can book day trips through their prefered tour agencys. These tend to be expensive, but that may not be an issue for you.
I suggest you stay in the AI,and eat, drink, and make merry!

Enjoy your time at the AI, maybe walk around a little bit, then come back next year and stay in Santo Domingo part of the time and at an AI part of the time.

The local food: rice, beans, fresh fruit. Drink rum or Presidente beer. It's what the rest of us live on.

which AI are you staying at? Four days is a short time... as others said too short to waste it traveling to S.D. (a 3.5 hour drive each way). depending on who you booked your vacation through and what tours they offer, you might want to spend one afternoon on a tour. but I wouldn't spend a whole day on one. If you're in one of the A.I.'s close to Cortecito, you could venture out on your own via conchos or taxi, or possibly even walk if you're close enough.

So nice he had to post it twice!

And I agree. Too short of time to do SDQ!

Thanks for the feedback. Rum and Presidente beer for sure. If it is as good as it sounds I'm sure it will be the first of many trips. Where are the best poker games (No Limit Holdem $1/$2 game)? The gals will probably follow Criss's advice to a T...the guys might want to venture out into town and look around some.
