Hello everyone,

any recent reviews of visits to Cueva Fun Fun?
Horseback riding experience required? Dangerous in the caves or the swimming in the underground river?
Is it worthwhile doing when you have seen Cueva de las maravillas?
Advisable to drive up there in own car or better to try to book an excursion from Santo Domingo or Juan Dolio?

Same for Tropical Plantation? Is it still open to public?
I suppose you can combine both on a 1-day trip from Santo Domingo?

Thanks,
Bartolomeo

Although I've never personally done the excursion (on my list to do very soon) we sell Cueva Fun Fun. We've never had a bad review and clients seem to enjoy it thoroughly. Cueva Fun Fun is definitely a step above Cueva de la Maravillas as you're gonna get wet and dirty. I wouldn't be worried about safety either.

If you have a car, why not drive up there. It's maybe a 2 hour ride from SD to Hato Mayor. You'll get to see some of the countryside and can make a stop in San Pedro for pasteles en hoja and Juan Dolio for some beach.
