If You Think The "QUAKE" Shook Things Up In The DR,Wait till After The Elections!

All things considered,it looks like the "PLD" will retain power.That will mean a "defacto" continuation of "Leonels" "Drunkin' Sailor" economic strategy.
They just borrowed another 100 million US Dollars last week.
After the May elections,they will have to go bankrupt,or raise taxes.
Since a PLD "funcionario" said yesterday that that is true,then said that he, "Never said that"!
Must have hear from Leonel to "Shut Up"!
We can be SURE,that even HIGHER taxes,fees,electric rates,fuel prices,food prices,are soon to be a reality.
For those of us fortunate to have an income stream in US Dollars,the continuing devaluation of the Dom.peso will help us lessen our "pain".For everyone else, get ready to go on a "DIET"!

But CC, the DR will have a new movie studio, private airport communities and art deco homes with vistas to kill for. I'm gonna go out and buy another pair of rose colored glasses..

Better talk to "Pichardo" Jumbo,he has a huge supply he has been giving away on DR1.
Article today in "Diario Libre" about lots of archtects,engeneers in the DR working without being certified,I bet MR,"P" knows most of them!

After seening the boarder crossing thread looks like the HGTV guys will be using the new studios for their design makeover Dominican style shows. There will be decades worth of shows to make.

We can be SURE,that even HIGHER taxes,fees,electric rates,fuel prices,food prices,are soon to be a reality.
Sure DR needs higher taxes. A gallon of fuel costs in Turkey twice the DR rate. Saves importing fuel.
Electric rates could easily double to encourage self generation, economy etc. Reduces stupid electric pants ruining the country.
Imported food prices could double with taxes - encourage local production - great idea.
Good taxes that suppot hospitals, schools, railways, culture are great!

Only thing higher taxes in the DR encourages is more corruption. I think the saying is that you can't get blood from a turnip. The Dominican people have suffered enough.

Maybe you should go to Cuba, it seems that you might enjoy seeing an entire population that's forced to suffer.
