The problem that I wrote about earlier has been found out and I need to find a specialist in that area.

I can highly recommend Dr. Miguel Contreras at HOMS. I used to go to an outstanding gastroenterologist, in Santo Domingo,
but when I had to find doctors closer to home for health reasons my doctor in SD recommended Miguel Contreras. Speaks fluent English. 829-947-2423. If you want his email address, let me know.

I will call both of those MD's on Monday to see who has an appointment available.

They don't really make appointments. Go early, like 9am-ish, and put your name on the list, or go back at two and do the same thing...

    People here wait for doctors.

As cobraboy said, very few doctors make appointments because Dominicans not reliable about being there on time. It is first come, first served. Dr. Contreras is in #423 on the 4th floor. Be there before 12 or after 3. If you are there before 12, you will be seen.

But don't go Monday since it is a holiday in the DR. Today is actually 3 Kings Day, but the government switched the celebration to Monday.

It would be a good idea to call the office on Tuesday to double check the schedule for the week because of the long weekend.

I took my friend this week to HOMS. Most Doctors are in vacation. He was referred to Opthamologist, Dermatologist and Urologist. But we could see none of them. All of them will resume their duties only after 10 January. So call their office before you go there.
