coming to sosua end of march and from researching i am hearing that sosua bay"club" is the best place for me and 4 single guys to go and enjoy a week there. was told it is guest friendly and that you have no problems having entertainment back in your room and that it is close to nightlife. is this all correct? after numerous calls trying to book rooms i finally got someone from hotel to book them but they didnt ask for any form of payment but gave me a confirmation number. is this standard practice to reserve a room without payment? afraid i will get there to check in and have no room as they give them away on 1st come 1st serve basis. what are best clubs and restaurants for us to go to and eat at? please advise

All that is correct and they don't take a CC on the phone, your room will be there. I told this on TA also. The strip of clubs and food is steps away and as you walk down the street (Pedro Clisante) you may stop in and check them all out.

Most hotels and restaurants prefer cash and some hotels will often give a better rate than for credit cards. Nothing to do at all with taxes...

There are PLENTY of posts on Sosua here, perhaps too many. Use the search engine to look them up. Don't forget to bring common sense and leave your expensive cell phones and expensive accessories at home. Cell phones/cameras are a favorite target. Try to print out a map to the hotel location to show to drivers. Have breakfast at Rocky's and you will meet plenty of people to give you tips.

The Sosua Bay Club is about as close to the action and the beach as you can get.

Is the Sosua Bay Club different from the Sosua Bay Resort and Victorian House?
Looks like it is on expedia.com and that Victorian House is all inclusive?

We stayed at the Sosua Bay Resort 2001 and could eat once at the Victorian house.

Update me please.

It is accessed via the beach road, and is separate but adjacent to the main resort. You have the option of the room with no meals, or with a meal plan. Sosua Bay Club is liberal about having a "visitor", the main resort is not.

my only advice would be to be careful walking back to sosua bay club at night. i've never liked that little road that leads down to the beach at night.
i'm not sure about the After One disco (a casino across from sosua bay that stays open late after the clubs closed), is it still open ?

Is there some reason why you can't enter through the main entrance? I wouldn't care to walk that beach road at night either. Just go in main entrance and turn left rather than right.

You can go thru the main entrance Ken. They just may want to see the girls' cedula.

I don't see that as a problem. We not only require a girl brought to the condo where I live to show her cedula, the watchman records the name and cedula number in his log and holds the cedula until she leaves and is sure the person who brought her is alright. We don't want to find that a girl robbed her drunk "boyfriend", or worse, and left in the night without a trace. Our knowing who the girls are is the best protection the men can have, even though they may not realize it.

There is never a problem getting the cedula.

What about the Victorian House?, when the wife and I last stayed at Sosua Bay it was considered better than Sosua Bay.
If I remember right they had a A La cart restaurant.
But now the rates on Expedia and Orbitz have both on the low end as far as rates.

Just booked two week stay at Sosua Bay AI with air from Newark direct to POP $815 pp total sharing a room. Figure will use that as base camp and get a room to play. Did not know they let youbring visitors back to AI part of hotel.
