Hello--
me and the lady just saw a black snake in the swimming pool at our condo. Maybe about two feet long. Looked like it ate something. Any idea what this is? Poisonous?

Thanks,

jjn

there are no poisonous snakes native to the country, However if the neighbour imported a Black Mamba as a pet then keep the windows shut.

but seriously, It'll be a rat snake or some kind of tree snake, nothing to worry about, leave it alone, do not harm it.

What area were you in when when you and your lady saw this snake. I have been coming to the DR since 97 and have only seen 2 snakes, 1 was run over just outside of POP, the other was about a foot and a half long white and smimming in the reefs. Anyone have any idea what kind that would be? What is the snake situation like on the north coast?
