Default Need an ophthalmologist in Santiago

I have recently recovered from Dengue fever. I can honestly say I have never been so sick in all my life.

One of the symptoms I had was excruciating ocular pain. Since my recovery I have noticed floaters in my vision. I have read that this could be caused by retinal hemorrhaging. I have also had recent LASIK surgery in the US, so I really need someone who specializes in this and it would be helpful if they speak English.

I have medical insurance with Universal.

    Thanks.

I forgot the name again, but pm HB. He advized this one, and I must say I was impressed. He speaks English, although far from perfect. I believe he is US and French trained.

    He takes insurance.

I very much doubt it is retinal hemorrhaging, as this would cause loss of vision as well. I think it probably are particles floating in the ocular fluid, caused by a severe infection. Nothing to really worry about, but needs treatment and time. This as an optometrist, but from a distance... lol

    I usually suggest two:
    Dr. Pedro Guzman at Corominas
Dr. Joe Asilis at Clinica Bonilla

Both are specialists. (Joe is a golfer) You can mention me if you want.

    HB

and my son says that Isabel Olivares in Centro Medico Cibao and HOMS (where she has the most advanced equipment in the country-[perhaps in the Caribbean] My son says not many places in the US have that kind of equipment! and he is kind of conservative in his estimates of colleagues...So you might want to check her out too.

I took my friend to Dr. Joe Asilis for Diabetic Retinopathy. We are having the second sitting today for the Laser treatment. And I would highly suggest him. He is visiting HOMS every Tuesday and Thursday.

Thanks everyone. I saw Dr Joe Asilis today and my mind is at rest. I have been diagnosed with keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) which may have been brought on by the Dengue fever.

I have been prescribed a steroid eye drop to fix it and my vision should return back to 20/20 in a week or so.
