    Default legals for building a house

    Hi, suppose a own a piece of land. What is the legal procedure to get the opportunity to build a house on it.
    How does it go to get permit?

    The construction plans prepared by the architect/engineer will have to be approved by Obras Publicas and the Ayuntamiento. When you start the building the workers will need to be enrolled in social security.

    The going "Dominican" rate for creating the plans and permitting is around RD250-300 per square meter of construction. Building costs can be between RD18000 to RD35000 a meter mostly depending on how much profit you want your builder to make.
