From today's Sosua News:

Last Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3 President Leonel Fern?ndez visited Sos?a (Charamicos). In his speech he promised again that Sos?a will soon have a hospital with 60 beds. But in April 2006 he already promised that there would be constructed a hospital. In January 2007 he said that there was a budget for a hospital. In February of that year, the then mayor Vladimir C?spedes made public that to his disappointment there was no budget for a hospital.

n June 2007, the residents of Sos?a threatened with a protest if the hospital would not be constructed. In January, the central bank announced that a piece of land near the airport had been made available for the construction of a hospital. In March 2008, the presidential candidate of the PRD promised that a hospital would be constructed. In July 2010 the citizens of Sos?a again held a protest march against the failure of the so often promised hospital. In November 2010, Ilana Neumann, the new mayor, told the public that a hospital had high priority. On February 3, 2012, Leonel Fern?ndez came to Sos?a to make the promise again that the construction of a hospital is in the pipeline. Most of the promises have been made just before elections until now. And now 'Puerto Plata Habla' made public that the Central Bank has made available a piece of land for the construction of the hospital. This was published also on 11 January 2008 by the same bank?
