Hello,

we are planning to take day trip from cabarete/ sosua to la isabela.
does anyone know if the road is ok? worse? or better than the average dr roads?
do we need a four wheel drive?
how long should it take?
also any tips on what to see/ do?

thanks!

There are two ways from Sosua.
1) Is new and I have not driven it yet, but I have good information on it.
You turn off towards Luperon, and when you get to El Estrecho, you go left to Rancho de los Vargas.. There are signs towards the new bridge to La Isabela. This cuts a tonne of time off the drive.

2) Or you can go over the bridge and that that right hand turn off to Guananico-Mamey de los Hidalgos-La Isabela. (that road is "okay" last time I took it...

And

3) you can go down to Navarrete, up to Cruce de Guayacanes, right at the Light/Texaco station to Mamey de los Hidalgos and then down to La Isabela...
