Hi I'd like to grow my own vegs and fruit trees. Anyone knows where to buy little plants or seeds?
I'll be close to sosua :)

Definitely buy the seeds form here... North American seeds have not worked well for us.

With local seeds we grow lettuce, carrots , beets onions, tomatoes.... almost anything you can think of.... watermelons, squash, peppers.

Seeds are in some supermakets and most Agro stores.

They grow fast here. Have fun.

My son-in-law was just telling me this morning that his mother had a kiwi tree when he was young. They lived in Imber.

there's another thread about cost of things in D.R. and apples were mentioned. I was looking online about growing apples in the tropics, and evidently there are a few varieties that can be grown. There's some in various tropical countries, might be interesting to try a few apple trees in the D.R. Where's Johnny Appleseed when you need him??? LOL

How does his song go....

"The birds and bees and the apple trees......."

I listened to that as a child so many times with the follow-along book
