Hi everyone, my first post.
I found a place to rent for a few months. The owner is very nice and we have exchanged several emails.
The place has bars on every window and door.
My questions is: What is your opinion on this neighborhood?

Sabana Grande, Puerto Plata, (right behind plaza turisol)

Bars on the windows does not actually mean that it is a bad area. A crook can enter a house in any area, the bars on the windows are extra security when the home is alone. You should check it out for a week first before renting.

personally, i would not live there. not the nices place to live, far from everything, not so safe (has nothing to do with iron bars).
