i just booked reservations with hamaca hotel may 2-8 with airfare for $674.00 each person.for myself,my son,my mother and father.i thought it was a good deal so i took it.our plans our chillin at hamaca,spearfishing in the reef of boca chica,isla sahona,la samana',las terrenas,las galeras,cascada el limon,salto alto,cuevas maravillas,shopping in santo domingo....for lacoste,and going to La Iglesia de Dios de La Profesia Bella Vista.
i would like to go to jarabacoa for the gold panning and waterfalls there.
whats ur experience with the jarabacoa waterfalls and gold panning...should we do it or is it a waste of time???

I think you should know the place has had some tragedy.

I don't know if you should or shouldn't go, but I'd want you to go being fully informed.

(I have no personal knowledge, just remember seeing the topic come up now and again. Others with personal knowledge will likely chime in.)

If it was you taking your loved ones would you not want somebody to mention it?

Anyway skates, hell of a trek to do all that in the north if you are staying at Hamaca for just 1 week.
But lots of fun, nice one!

As La Rubia said, be careful of the waterfall trip....

Since I have been on DR1, there have been at least three deaths at Damajuaga and the warning is appropriate. In other posts, he mentions traveling with his daughter. I doubt that any father would knowingly expose his child to unnecessary danger.

Been to the falls, did the 1st set of falls, seven levels or so. Even if there are no unexpected water surges, which can kill, its still dangerous! No ambulance, no air lift, be careful. Its a great place to people watch!

sorry for the late response.there was too much rain, so..we ended up stayin at hamaca.me and my wife spent alot of time messin around in the casino.the food was decent.the drinks were all right.we had a great time...!!! my son and I did alot of spearfishin which i love so overall i would highly recommend it...............only problem seem to be that i felt that all the gringos had to walk 1/2 a mile to get anywhere.....especially on the weekends at the Hamaca! we had 3 viejos and the room was wayyyyyyy too far away from base.good hotel overall.

so nice and its very helpfull for us . because in coming day. we have a plan to travell and
now I decided to visit there after confimation with my team........

its a great all-inclusive hotel.but try to get a room much closer to reservations...it really suks to find out after a 1/2 mile walk that ur room is 1/2 mile walf up to the 3rd fl to the right...even me a laborer was very tired walkin it ...it definetly was not a vacation...then we got attacked by mosquitos.
more like work to me!!!
