I posted in the Living section that President Martelly has been taken to the United States for treatment of a lung embolism. I asked for prayers for a speedy recovery.
Evidently there were so many denigrating postings, which, thankfully, I did not see, that the thread was closed.
I wonder what sort of mind set there is in any person who hopes for a stable and prosperous Dominican Republic who would NOT wish for the health and speedy return of the democratically elected President of their neighboring country?
I can only surmise that those who do not wish the best for Haiti are the ones who profit from instablity. That would mean to me, those who profit from illegal and illicit practices that go on across the border. Those who would wish for a weak state so that they might land their small aircraft over there.. on that side... and continue their nefarious dealings on this island.
That there are some here on these forums, who are gifted in two languages and internet savy, who mightjust be posting .. well... antihaitianimo venom... I would ask that you go back to your wiki maps and see that this is an island.. that your nation cannot stand if Haiti sinks into the hands of the MEXICAN and Russian cartels.. which are the folks behind the recent trafficking.....
You may not like the Haitians. No one is asking you to. You may continue to hold whatever prejudices that you wish.. that is your personal perogative.
But you would be very foolish indeed to endanger your home land and the safety and security of your relations by wishing ill on the duly elected President of Haiti as he is about all that stands between
