I find TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting easy and friendly to use.

When the screen appears find and select the file/ photo on your computer and select Message Board from the dropdown menu to resize and then click Upload Now. Enter the required phrase and click Upload Now again. When your photo is uploaded, highlight and copy the link for Forums/ Message Board and paste it into your post.

There is no "simple" way to upload pictures. You have to go through a host like tinypics or photobucket to download your pictures to an album and then upload from there to this forum.
I suspect that a direct upload from your computer could be facilitated on this forum, but maybe there is a reason for this?

I believe the answer is:

That would require DR1 to host the pictures.
Which would eat up a lot of memory space, the more memory used, the more DR1 is charged for the hosting.

By linking from places like "TinyPic.Com" the only space required is a small simple link of a few bytes of memory.

The pictures are not "uploaded" to DR1, they are simply displayed by linking to the hosting service.

Not true, we lease our own servers. We own the drives in those servers.

If someone posts porn photos on our server, then we have a problem.
Sure we can delete them, but I don't need the extra work or attention.

The web has many of file hosting services that allow you to link to the uploaded files.

The having to pay for the storage would thus not be true.
It would still take up a lot more storage on the servers if the photos were uploaded to DR1's servers.

Little by little storage would be used up, but what the heck, sounds like DR1 is rolling in "storage" capacity.

Then why don't you allow us to have "Avatars" since it would not be a burden to the site?

Oops same point:

If someone posts porn avatars on the server, then DR1 has a problem.
Sure DR1 can delete them, but DR1 doesn't need the extra work or attention.

It has ZERO to do with storage and everything to do with liability, that's why I don't allow photos to be uploaded to our server.

I'm not a lover of avatars and right now only the mods can have one.
Will that change in the future, maybe.... You'll have to wait and see.

Ok I see it works if I use another computer. It must be a setting on mine that keeps me posting stuff here. ;)
