Highway vs road to Sanchez

Do we have to pay for that last section of highway going back? How is the road to Sanchez?

Yes, that section costs 450 pesos each way -Muy caro!-- The road from Sanchez takes about 20-25 minutes longer; however it's in MUCH better shape than a year ago-- I always take the highway when I must drive at night or in the rain--

For comparisons sake - how does the road to Sanchez compare to the road from el limon down to Samana and then over to las galeras?

As Susan said the road from LT to Sanchez is much improved... meaning nice pavement and no potholes as has been the case. It is still mountainous with sharp switchbacks whereas the road from Limon to Samana and on to LG is much easier driving, as is the new road through Coson to LT. Whether the new road is worth the time saved vrs money spent is a personal choice :)
