This is a well-known fault line. Perhaps an extension of the one in Haiti that did the damage in 2010.

Anyone around San Cristobal/Playa Najayo/Playa Palenque who can tell me about any effects there?

Didn't feel the one Sunday morning nor the last one last night.

Last one Magnitude: 3.3, DateTime: Sunday July 7 2012, 21:03:59 AST according to Live Earthquakes Map
in the Mona Passage

Those from the PR trench and Mona may be felt in SG by following the Septentrional fault and its branches. See DOMINICAN REPUBLIC EARTHQUAKE FAULT LINES
for DR faultlines and history.

Thanks for the "Live Earthquakes" site, very nice.
