PJT happened to make a quick visit to the site of the Pinalito dam in Constanza. A few observations at the site were of interest: the first few kilometers of the road that accesses the dam the are paved and then change over to gravel with the sections nearest the dam constructed of concrete. However, the concrete sections have fallen into disrepair, one complete section 4 meters x 10 meters have sunken about 1 foot below grade level, suspect rain run off has undermined the road; the water level on the storage side of the dam is at least 6 meters below the high water level and there is no water flow observed on the downriver side of the dam; the dam is marketed as a hydroelectric project, yet, there is no visual indication of any electric equipment at the site, ie: transformers and towers. Wonder if this is still a work in progress or has been abandoned ?

Nobody in Constanza could provide information.

PJT

I've seen several small hydro power stations and the turbines are not always near the dams.

That being said, there certainly isn't much water to be running a turbine!
