My wife and I are going to the DR for the first time from August 11th to the 23rd. We are going to be in Santo Domingo on Restauration Day, which I read is the day that the new president with be sworn in. Will there be anything special going on that day because of the inaguration/Restauration day. Can I go to the inaguration? Will that be a bad day to be in the capital because there will be a lot of people? We are trying to do SD in one day so we can spend most of the time on the beaches in the Southwest and Samana Peninsula. Gracias de antemano.
