KB4K - Kiteboarding Charity Event August 17-19

There is a fun event planned for this coming weekend: August 17-19. If anyone is around Cabarete during this time you are invited to join the fun!!

The event is KB4K: Kiteboarding to Help Children in Need. The concept is that we all participate in a kiteboarding contest while at the same time raising money for children's charities working around the Cabarete area.

The kiteboarding part is for all ages and abilities. There are 4 divisions: Women, Juniors 14 and under, Open and Pro. If you are a kiteboarder - come compete! Otherwise its REALLY fun to watch the show. It is Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th at LEK/Millennium Resort. Afternoons, when the wind picks up.

More than only kiteboarding we have other neat activities planned.

- Beach Games during the day for all kids and big kids too......

- Silent Auction with awesome items

- Massive Millennium Pool Party on Sat night brought to you by Red Bull

- Food and Drinks on the beach

Basically it's a heck of a lot of fun, the spirit is awesome and we would love everyone to come check it out.

Just wanted to share the event report from our charity fundraiser in Cabarete last weeend -

KB4K ? Kiteboarding to Help Children in Need



The 4th annual KB4K fundraising kite competition rocked Cabarete, Dominican Republic last weekend! With perfect weather conditions and excellent participation, KB4K raised over $20,400. The money KB4K raises goes to 10 local charities working with disadvantaged kids living near Cabarete. KB4K is still fundraising to meet the $30,000 goal set for this year, so if you?ve been to Cabarete and would like a way to show your love to the community make a donation RIGHT NOW!

Besides awesome kiteboarding action on the water the beach was a vibrant scene of fun and games...and hot dogs.



The event was presented by title sponsor SOLOSHOT, an innovative tripod/armband combo that films you automatically while you practice kiteboarding, surfing, soccer etc.. SOLOSHOT inventor, Chris Boyle, was on hand during the event, making sure the competitor's heats were captured on video.
