Hi, I am new to this thread.

Just found it recently, was looking for things to do on my first visit to DR and found this site.
Lots of good information I might add.

I am looking for somewhere in Puerto Plata or near by that has seafood. Fresh seafood caught on the day
and served to you. Can anyone help me out with this.

I am visiting the DR from Aug 24-31 :cheeky:

In PoP, go to Jhoans at Maimon on the highway to Santiago.
Many restaurants have opened around Jhoans over the years, but they're still the best.
Pick out your own fish, or pick a hot one just out of the kettle —grease so hot it flashes dry when put on a plate.
Lambi (conch) salad criollo style, cangrejo (land crab) criollo style, pulpo (octopus) criollo, sweet potato chips . . .
Fill up your plate, it's cheap and still the best around.
