My nephew has a house that he wants to rent out in Cabo Rojo PR, which is on the South Coast.

Does anyone think that it would be worthwhile to advertise anywhere in the DR?

Or any advice to attract snowbirds?

Do not know how to advise him...

There is a small population of renters in the town where he is, but not a huge amount.

Any help is welcome!

Question #1: No
Question #2: Absolutely! Push it in the simplest of ways to get to them. I'm talking about basic websites (VRBO.com, HomeAway.com, etc.) as well as an advertisement in the NY Times, Boston Herald and Chicago Tribune. Anywhere there is a direct flight from their hometown to your destination (San Juan, PR) is best.

If it is a luxury rental you need to advertise it differently than a casual rental. Ensure you know the demographic and word accordingly. The former is all about the 'experience' while the latter is about the 'cost'.

Hope this helps!

The best place to advertise vacation property is either at homeaway.com or vactionrentalbyowner.com. These are sites that specialize in vaction rental property. It is expensive for a year at around $350usd but you will get huge exposure and many people will see the site.
