I'm invited to a gringo wedding and would love to buy them a Dominican gift. Any ideas?

There are beautiful Dominican "things" at the gift shop at Centro Leon in Santiago.

A set of coffee cups is always nice. A lot depends on how close you are to the Bride and Groom...and what class of society they are. Some might not appreciate a fine set of collectable plates or a good painting....and would really appreciate that bag of rice.

That's actually a good idea...one of the best cookbooks on this cuisine I've ever found. A true Dominican gift!

Everyone's favorite "Cash"

I've never given anything but cash to any wedding I've ever attended.

Is that just an Italian thing??

I use the gift registry for bridal shower and sometimes for engagement, but usually cash at engagement too.

It's a European thing. Not much in No American circles , from my experience.
My wife has a Ukranian background and we got plenty of cash.
They hand it personally, stand very close to you, hug you, very middle European style.
Nice actually.
