Hi there! I just came back from La Vega, DR and forgot to ask what the cost for electricity is at now in that area. Any help would be super appreciated.
Cheers!

It's the same all over the country.
Over 700 kw/h it is RD$11.10 per kw/h

22.10/39 = US$0.2845 per kw.h

Many thanks HB!!
Wow, so if I use 400kw per hour it will run me RD$8,840/hr - and at 700kw it will cost RD$7.770/hr !
Brilliant, double your consumption and spend less!
BTW, are you in the field of manufacturing, industry, engineering or alike? And if not, are you aware of a place on the web where I can connect with people in these areas specifically - and in english??
Your input this morning was greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend!

Where I live Edenorte's highest rate is 10.86 $RD per kWh.

400 kWh would cost $RD 4,344 at that rate.

No, check your invoice, it is now $11.10

Besides that, note I said "Over 700 Kw/h.."

If you use less your bill will be a lot less, because there are increments at 100, 200, and so forth...BUT if you go over 699, the ALL of your "Kilos" are at 11.10 pesos.

I am sure someone better than me can find the list of prices per Kw/h.

Interesting. I understand the go over 700 kWh issue with Edenorte. I don't go over 700 kWh and the highest rate I have on my last bill is 10.86.

Is it only if you exceed 700 kWh that there is a new high rate of 11.10 at which all power is charged?

I know of nowhere on line that the rates for Edenorte are published.

Here's a link for Edenorte tariffs.Your type of installation dictate the tariff, not the consumption. If someone could post a copy of an invoice,we could try to understand their way of calculating. In Canada for residential use, there is a monthly minimum,a certain amount of KW at a lower rate and the rest at a higher rate.
If I understand what Hillbilly wrote, once your consumption goes over 700KW,you pay everything at the higher rate.
Here is the link Tarifas

if one happened to have a large generator (with unlimited power), are there restrictions on selling to ones' neighbors?

What do your neighbours need against you?
Infernal noise or bellowing smoke?
Whatever...I can help. :)
