There was an awesome drug bust in LT over the weekend of a 42 boat with an American and two Dominicans carrying about 143 kilos of cocaine to the States

ALL the big dealers are GONE from LT!!!

it is the first time EIGHT years that I have felt really safe there and not afraid that I was going to have to insist that my friend Annette bring her kids out of the Village to live here in the Capital.

The BEST restaurants from the p\ueblo des Pescadors have all relocated to elsewhere in the Village so the dining is all there ...

and the French are up and running with a groovy French sing along at the Barrio Latino starting at 5 pm

ONE LOVE down at the Hotel Palapa wins both for the best breakfast and for the smooth reggea dancing at night

Willie has taken over the old Godfather;s on the hill over to playa Bonita and is serving the LAMB.. you should be so lucky

We are still missing AMERICAN flags..

Poor ole big dan's Has even lost the Presidente umbrellas and the guys are frying in the sunshine//

We have driven out the Ukrainia working girls who were coming in to steal our trade and pretty soon we are gonna get our little comptoir des isle back because we do not need an Ibiza whore house open all day.... We know who are working girls are and where to find them

it looks like Casa Nina is under new management and no longer a pedophile hangout but I will not know for sure until the Italian cook at the other restuarant is under arrest or gone... And the little boys are off the streets.. We do not need poor little boys selling things on the beaches. Does not look good.
\
Lots of the European flights have been cancelled and have pulled out of El CAtey but Jet Blue is coming in. I do not know how long Jet Blue will give them before they pull the flight.; But if some of the realtors would get smart and advertise in the Sunday Times Magazine and list properties with Southeby's and Christie;s// We should have some Sales.. My cousin already said that the Buzz is that it was the new St Bart's// That is a good buzz

Brooks Astor said that Oscar de La Renta was the only person she trusted.

That is certainly good enough for me/

The bancas need to be turned into red cross air conditioned stops with water otherwise the tourists who are on foot will be dead

My favorite hotel is Casa del Mar Neptuna near Pizza Coco on the road to Puna Poppy, which is my favorite beach.

I am pleased to say that I can now heartily recommend Las Terrenas for vacations, for retirement, for investment, and for making a home and educating children.

Thank Goddess

My particular thanks to the Dominican military forces and all of the international forces that did such heroic work in clearing up the drug traffic on the island over the last year

all clear\

open for business

let us see some American flags now

and SPEAK AMERICAN

not ici on parle anglais

and I never ever recognized the Union Jacl, being Welsh and Scots

Awesome drug bust?
Over the weekend?
To the States? (The Bahamas is not the US.)
143 kilograms? 123 kg + 120 kg = 243 kilograms ;)

You could have read it here also:
http://www.dr1.com/forums/living/126578-american-powder-boat-las-terrenas.html

Of course, the local 'authorities' boast that they traced and captured the boat and crew.

But people here say, the unfortunate voyagers needed fuel and asked a fisherman for help... :knockedou
Poor guy is in jail as well... :(

But maybe it was all much different; we shall never know.... ;)

Las Terrenas has not changed so much as you see it.

nope,,, I went over to Marina de Guerra this morning and interviewed the officers there ... really high end

who told me that they traced the boat from leaving in Boca Chica

then I sat at the ONE LOVE and had breakfast and watched the two high speed chase boats that they used all loaded up on their trailers and their escort vehicles of spotless tinted window Hilux trucks

came down the highway with about 14 undercover guys.. Some all duded up in NYC cocaine garb with ipads, very cool,

I have worked on the streets of LAs Terrenas undercover for eight years

I will bet that I know a damn site more about it than you do

from your perch in

barbacoa

as in

the Marina de Guerra on the Far side of Balcones de Atlantico

you know

the one that Bisono traded the State for, the land on the beach

you up here, you are so poor, I will build you a catholic church and a navy station and you will let me privatize the beach front even though we all know

that THAT IS AGAINST THE CONSTITUION THAT WAS JUST PASSED

as in.. the boat that went up on the shore line

right by the public park
where they have put up the new swings and the teeter totters

Heard about it from Jose on Sunday morning

then saw it with my own baby blues

when I went to meet up with the family
on our way to lunch at the beach

at Thallasa's

which makes an AWESOME shrimp pasta dish, btw!

I am a credentialed journalist\

that is the story\\

i did not have my notebook out so I will defer to Listin Diario on the kilos

but this was not a stranded tourist boat

this was the last cocaine bust that will be needed here, I do believe.... Because now we have the tail of the dragon

the problem is with CRACK cocaine which will turn a human being into an animal who will sell his mother or his sister or his daughter or his son in about a week.. and himself in about a week

and you cannot have both crack and a tourist destination

the Dominicans thought they were very clever when they came up with Crack.. and they thought it would be ok if they just decimated Harlem because those were only the n@#$##

but then they met the Colombians.. to whom the Dominicans are only N!#$#$@#$

and so Santo Domingo went from being the safest city in the hemisphere ten years ago.. to.. well..not so much

When I came to Las Terrenas eight years ago, I saw the locals stoned on crack and went to talk to Camillo who was running for mayor and did not have a clue as to the difference between crack and coke and ganga.

I had an expert friend of mine from AA who was visiting talk to Jose.

I served with the National Police when they did a sweep of town

My place was broken into and robbed every two days

My water line was cut

but when they slashed my hammock and stole my Taylor guitar

I moved out

I once threw a rock through the window of Atlantic Sud, the orginial cocaine dealing realtor in town

Supposedly he is sailing his boat around the world, but he is not. He is still in town.

I think he still owns the Palapa, no?

At least they have Rene Kaplan surrounded in Rio San Juan

And the one remaining brother of the Russian drug dealing mob in Bayahibe under close watch

Ukrainiane whores are welcome in Haiti.

I feel like we've been here before, have we not:disappoin

nope we have not

ganga is coming into the island now very well blocked from Haiti as the ganga that was coming in from Columbia was laced with hallucinogens

the authorities have busted the major international drug cartel which was using this island as a transit point to Europe and the United States.

I imagine that some cocaine will make it through for the VERY EXPENSIVE US PRICES for the VERY FEW people who can afford to indulge in that

But fairly soon there will be NO CRACK in the barrios

and there will be a slow drying up of a LOT of real estate deals that a LOT of people thought they were going to make a lot of money on

and we will wait and see

if the good money will come

i would not suggest that any one hold their breath

That sounds practical until you witness your child or someone you love wired out, and would entertain shoving a knife in your gullet for one more hit !!! ALL DRUG DEALERS should have a Russian roulette experience around the cajones area...

And, of course, they told you exactly how it all happened... ;)
You should have been here last Wednesday; by now their stories have all been fabulated.
