I will be travelling from Santo Domingo to Sosua on Friday but don't know what time so I was planning on buying multiple tickets like 12pm 1pm and 2 pm and if I catch the 12pm bus i would cash in the other 2.

The reason I want to do it this way is because these buses on the weekend fill up fast and if i arrive at 12:05 and have to take the 2 pm bus then that is a 2 hour wait and a 4 hour trip which is too long

From my general experience in the DR virtually nothing is refundable. Once a Dominican gets your cash in his hand I have never seen it come back. Hope its otherwise with the bus system. Good luck.

You may be able to use it on a bus the same day at a different time, but to get money back you have a better shot at going to the moon on a bus.

you have about as much chance of getting a refund as you do of getting a loan back from a Dominican.

Cabarete, Dominican Republic
or......

you could go get your ticket and if the next bus is sold, just go to the waiting room and offer to buy someones ticket for $10 extra., I'm sure they will not mind waiting an extra hour for $10.

just a thought.

My understanding is that CT tickets are not refundable BUT
On one occaision during the Xmas rush I took a ticket back to CT the day before travel as I knew I was not going to use it. I was not expecting and did not ask for a refund but wanted to free my seat for another passenger I was asked to wait and given a full refund.
I have only ever met courtesy from CT and its staff

Mike, why not get a cab? If you're getting multiple tickets put the costs of each coach ticket towards a one-way trip in a cab.
