This is neither new nor groundbreaking. Protests against Martelly started shortly after the beginning of his presidency and have just increased since then. They're mostly small manifestations, nothing major. MINUSTAH generally goes in and disperses the crowd. There's never been anything that has gotten out of hand against Martelly. In fact the man feels so comfortable about his status in spite of these manifestations that he recently walked from the airport to the national palace (10 kms +/-) passing by a large, LAVALAS-sponsored (Aristide's party) anti-Martelly manifestation. There was only one casualty, one of Martelly's guards. He died of a heart attack caused by heat stroke.

This place (I live in Haiti), will never change and this "news" is not news at all. It's like starting a thread about how traffic lights don't work so well in Santo Domingo. It's just the way it is, not news at all.

Thanks for the input, Prospero. There is no way for us here to know what is going on without people showing us pictures and then comments like yours.

As for news or no news.. well, it is news when Le Novelliste posts a video. Maybe not news to you on the ground. But news to the outside world.

Glad to here that Sweet Micky walked from the airport.... relieved, in fact
