Take a look at Channel 29 or Channel 16...

And then notice the attendance at any other game around the league.

Of course this is Licey vs. ?guilas!! A full stadium seeing a great game

Last night it was ?guilas 10-0 in the early innings, got tied 10-10, in the 9th Licey got men on 1st and 3 rd. A ground ball to short, double play and now 12-11. Two outs, two strikes on Jose Francisco. Long, long, long fly and it is tied 12-12...In the tenth, lead off double and then Chris Coghlan, who had a homer in the early innings, came up to bat and hit one that was amazing!!! ?guilas got the 3 outs in the bottom half and won 14-12!!!
Game only took 6:12!! Started at 5...rain delay.

Las Aguilas son las Aguilas, watched that game last night great game all the way to the end. Watching today's game as well. Las Aguilas's mascot has outdone himself again.

Las Aguilas are up 5 to 1, the stadium filled to capacity, its pure pandemonium. The fans are going crazy!!

Miguel Tejada and Manny? OMG!! They were on the bench when my daughter was the madrina!!!

Manny struck out pinch hitting in the 8th inning. Miguel Batista read a poem before the start of the game, though Tim Corcoran was the game's starting pitcher. Dominguez Brito paid for some fireworks after the game for some reason.

Your Eastern teams (Toros) are doing well, they have won quite a few in a row. The manager Eddie Diaz so they say was a pretty good manager in Mexico. Estrellas doing well also..But Aguilas is Aguilas. There is like a mystique about them..

Just to continue this idea, take a look at Channel 37--Tigres del Licey vs. Leones del Escogido, the so-called Eternal Rivals. And the stadium is almost empty.

Then look at Channel 29--Gigantes del Cibao vs. ?guilas Cibae?as....lots of people, even in the bleachers!!.

This years rosters are actually more intriguing than the last few years. Some spicy vets, Vlad, El Guagua, Manny etc.... and some really top young prospects, Starling Marte, Oscar Taveras amongst others. Some subsidized food for the bleachers in Santiago (25 pesos for pica pollo con tostones {rotating menu} certainly doesn't hurt!). Love me some baseball! Any time you are game Hillbilly, would love to take a game in with you, and any others on the board for that matter in the Santiago area.
